Purpose of the program:

To educate qualified health technicians who can provide basic and advanced life support to patients and accident victims in the prehospital period and to be able to perform emergency care by recognizing possible critical situations and to provide patients or wounded who have first intervened to hospitals safely by ambulance. The training period of the program is four semesters (internship period is included). At the end of the fourth semesters, 30 days of internship is done.

Admission and Registration Requirements:

First and Emergency Assistance Program; according to the Secondary School Achievement Score (SSP) by the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM), students who prefer to pass the exam without a test are placed in the Health Professions High School within the Vocational and Technical Education District (METEB). Emergency Medical Technician of Health Vocational High School and Primary and Emergency Aid Technician departments can pass without examination. In case the quota is open, students are taken by METU outside the METEB and by the OSYM according to the YGS-2 score type results.


Qualification Requirements and Rules

In order to complete the First and Emergency Assistance Program and obtain the associate degree, students must successfully complete the required compulsory and vocational elective courses (for a total of 120 ECTS) and have a CGPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Career Opportunities

Graduates; They work with the title of "Paramedic" in public and private health institutions and organizations. They work in emergency health service units of other institutions and organizations, especially health institutions. Employment areas; Emergency Services, 112 Emergency Stations, 112 Command Control Centers, Private Ambulance Services, etc. of public and private hospital / The units. They can be appointed as Paramedic (Health Technician) according to the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS).

Duties-Authorities and Responsibilities

First and Emergency Aid assesses and applies professionally the knowledge gained from basic theoretical and applied courses supported by textbooks containing current information in the field of Emergency Aid, application tools and other resources.


It informs related persons and institutions about basic and information skills related to the field of Emergency and First Aid, and transmits written and oral suggestions for solutions to problems and problems.


The basic knowledge of the First and Emergency Assistance field is carried out independently of the assigned task using its accumulated knowledge and skills.


In order to solve complex and unforeseen problems encountered in applications related to the First and Emergency Assistance field, they take part in the team and act in accordance with quality management and processes and assume individual responsibility when necessary.


The collection and interpretation of the data related to the First and Emergency Assistance field will act in accordance with the social, scientific, cultural and ethical values ​​in the stages of interpretation, implementation and announcement of the results.


It communicates effectively with colleagues, patients, patient relatives, physicians and other health professionals.


Know the institutions and organizations in the health system; As an individual working in the field of Emergency and First Aid, the law, regulations and legislation related to the duties, rights and responsibilities act accordingly.


It successfully uses the information and communication technologies together with the computer software required by the First and Emergency Assistance field.


It interprets and evaluates data using basic knowledge and skills acquired in the field of First and Emergency Assistance, identifies, analyzes and takes responsibility / takes responsibility for the planned studies for solution.


Participate in the programs, professional in-service training activities and other activities to improve the knowledge, skills and competences related to the First and Emergency Relief with a lifelong learning awareness and to develop oneself personally and professionally.


In the field of First Aid and Emergency Aid, it follows the events of the society and the world's agenda and is sensitive to developments.


It can develop solution proposal by taking professional and ethical values ​​related to the field.
